kokoelmia -- collections

tykkään ideasta keräillä jotakin, vaikka tällä hetkellä en taida mitään keräilläkään. voisin kyllä haluta keräillä värikkäitä kukkopillejä (yksi äidin antama vanha oranssi on) tai jotain astioita tai hmm kaikenlaista voisin. i like the idea of collecting something although i'm not collecting anything at the moment. i could collect some colorful rooster pipes (i have one my mother gave me) or some dishes or hmm many kinds of things.

eräs entinen naapurini keräsi sähköjunamaailmaansa kaikenlaista. kerran hän paljasti omistamansa yksiön, joka oli varattu kokonaan näille härveleille ja maisemille. rautatiekylään syttyivät valot ja esitys alkoi. se oli upea näky. salaisuus, jota hän ei julkisuuteen paljastanut. aikojen saatossa on myös vanhojen radioiden, työkalujen, lehmäkorttien, pupuhahmojen ja postimerkkien keräilijöitä vastaan tullut. kokoelmiin on aina ilo tutustua. an ex neighbour of mine collected stuff for his electric train world. once he revealed a studio flat which he owned only for his hobby. i mean it was not a table -- the room was the railway scenery. the lights were put on and the show started. it was amazing. it was his secret. i have also met collectors of old radios, tools, cow-related cards, bunny items and stamps. it's always a pleasure to get to know somebody's collections.   

löysin juuri nämä hauskat lapsuuden ajan kokoelmat. parasta viikonloppuna oli kun oma lapseni S otti pari kokoelman askia käteensä ja kysyi: "äiti saanko nukkua näitten kanssa?" kannatti kerätä! ;) i just found these collections of my childhood. the best was when my child S was holding a couple of boxes from the collection and asked: "mommy, can i sleep with these?" it was worth collecting them! ;) 

historiallisia askeja. muistatko maut? historical candy boxes. do you remember the flavors? 
jopa suklaamunien foliokääreitä oli kasa. even the foil wraps of some easter eggs.
pieniä kuvallisia papereita löytyi ties kuinka paljon. i found so much of different kinds of small printed note papers.
smurffeja tekemässä erilaisia juttuja. muistaakseni hedelmätoffeiden päällysiä. smurfs doing their things. i think these were fruit toffees. 
suklaapatukoiden eläinaiheisiä kääreitä. chocolate wraps.
kyllä, pikku juustopalojen etikettejä! eikun keräilemään vaan jotakin vastaavaa! ei tarvitse olla kallista tai harvinaista. yes, some labels of small cheese pieces! you could collect something similar! it doesn't need to be expensive or rare. don't ask what kind of child i was.

lapsuusmaisemissa -- with my childhood family

tapasin paljon lapsuusajan askarteluja (kuten tämän lentävän noidan), kirjoja ja leluja, joista lisää joku toinen päivä. i met lots of handicrafts (like this flying witch), books and toys from my childhood. more about them on another day.
pupuja ja heppoja. bunnies and horses.
mökkivierailua isin salamajassa, josta muita kuvia ei saa näyttää. a cottage visit.

lapsien iloa serkkujen ym. kanssa. seeing the joy of our children with their cousins etc.
majanrakentamista muistopaikoilla. making some wood houses in a nostalgic childhood forest. 
leikkimistä ensimmäisen kouluni pihassa. oi nämä portaat ja ovenkahvat. tässä jonotimme aamulla ja odotimme opettajan tulevan avaamaan ovet. "hyvää huomenta" ja "hyvää huomenta". inspecting my elementary school. these doors and stairs. in the early morning we made a queue here and waited for the principal to open the doors and say good morning.
siellä olikin paljon lunta. still lots of snow up there. making some snow angels.

onnelliset virpojat -- a traditional palm sunday

tänään D & S tekivät vitsoja ja virpoivat terveiksi lähinaapureitamme. loru tuli aivan identtisesti ja samoin hengen vedoin! vaikka muuten hyvin erilaisia ovatkin. voi sitä onnea kun kerrankin sai herkutella oikein kunnolla. oli taas kerran ihana katsella heidän naamoja. this is an old finnish(?) tradition. children decorate some branches and go to peoples' homes to make them healthy by giving a certain rhyme and moving the branch up and down. then our neighbours get the branch and the children get some chocolate eggs, candies (or we sometimes got some money) into their baskets. today they were so happy to have their treats and see what was inside of the eggs. it was lovely to see them doing this all.  

kirpparia ja lammasta -- flea market, meats and treats

lihansyöjille paremmalla omallatunnolla tammisaarelaista luonnonlaidunlihaa. lammasta. tätä viulun kokoista möhkälettä valmisteltiin ties kuinka monta päivää ennen uuniin saattamista. resepti oli tosi hyvä. en ole koskaan kokannut näin isoa lihakönttiä, joten mieheni halusi ikuistaa minut lihan kanssa. anteeksi, aika ällöttävä kuva. valkoinen pinta on yrttistä jugurttimarinaadia. for meat eaters for better conscience, lamb from the fields in Tammisaari. the recipe was very good. the white stuff on the meat is some herbs and natural yoghurt. sorry, the picture is not very nice... but we needed to take it because i have never cooked such a big piece of meat!

tänään olin erityisen kiitollinen muutamasta hyvin hengellisestä ja kohottavasta puheesta, jotka kuulin kirkkomme maailmanlaajuisessa yleiskonferenssissa. ja siitä että lapsemme saavat kuulla niitä asioita elämän varrella maailman myrskyissä. today i was deeply grateful for couple of very spiritual and uplifting talks i heard at the church worldwide general conference. and that our children will hear those things during their life storms.

tänään tuli tehtyä myös lapsille mieluisia kirpparilöytöjä, mm. löytyi toiset henkselit toisiin klovnihousuihin :). ja "kahviteltua" rakkaan ystäväni kanssa. our boys were happy this morning because i found some little things from a flea market. they got for example suspenders for their clown pants :). and i had a "coffee break" with a dear friend of mine. 

maaseututerapiaa -- countryside therapy

päiväretki maalle. 25 min. ajomatka ja täysin eri tunnelmat. a day trip to countryside (25 min. drive). our children had so much fun together. mud cooking, sliding, carrying some wood pieces back and forth, baking some rolls. lapsilla oli niin hauskaa yhdessä ja meillä myös. mutakokkausta, viimeiset mäenlaskut lumessa, laudankappaleiden kanniskelua, lehtikompostissa istuskelua, pystyssä olevan kottikärryn päälle asettumista, mansikkamaan tutkimista, leikkimökkivierailua, postin noutamista postilaatikosta ja nokkossämpylöiden leipomista. pajunkissojakin löytyi mukaan. 

tipuja ja vauvoja -- chicks and babies

sain tänään tavata kymmenen viikkoa vanhan vauvan. on kyllä aina yhtä ihana ja erityinen tunne olla pienen vauvan seurassa. it's always a special holy feeling to meet a new baby. today i went to a home where i had a privilege to hold a little perfect baby.

se siitä pyhyydestä kun saavuin kotiin. talo oli pian täynnä tipuja. asun ensimmäinen osa valmistui hetkessä iltapalapöydässä, mutta jatko onkin hieman kysymysmerkki. ehdotuksia? tiput haluavat kuulemma keltaisen naaman, pienet siivet ja pienoisen pyrstön, mustat silmät ja tipujalat. i came home and the holiness was gone ;). the house was full of flying chicks. the first part of the costume became ready fast, but how should i make the rest? they want black eyes, bird feet, small wings, tails and yellow faces. 

aurinkoinen päivä -- a sunny day

maailman helpointa munanmaalausta paperille ja maailman helpoin mobile. the easiest egg painting (paper) in the world and the easiest mobile in the world. and then some real (chocolate) egg painting. baby E holding his egg. 


"äiti haluan olla pääsiäispupu". "mommy, i want to be an easter bunny". kehtaisko sunnuntaina mennä virpomaan kuolarätit päässä?
