herkkuja ja opettelua -- treats and learning

me ei suuremmin juhlita nimipäiviä meidän perheessä, mutta jotakin herkkua aina laitan jälkkäriksi.

we don't celebrate name days in a very big way in our family but i do make some dessert when it's somebody's name day.

päivän vinkki minulta on tehdä riisisekoitus, joka on mukava niin koostumukseltaan kuin maultaan. lapsetkin tykkäävät. keittoaika n. 15 min.

my hint today is to make a rice mix. the stickiness and the flavor is good. also our children like it. it's basmati rice and fast (15 min.) dark rice.

eilen S oli ollut hankala musiikkitunnilla. juttelimme tästä kotona. kuulin keittiöön kun hän sanoi D:lle: "voitko opettaa mulle miten olla hyvä? haluan niin paljon saada tarran huomenna." voitko opettaa minulle... ihana asenne.

yesterday S had been difficult in the music class. we talked about this at home. from the kitchen i heard him saying to D: "could you teach me how to be good? i really want to get a sticker tomorrow at school". could you teach me... what a lovely attitude.

D oli tehnyt opetuskaavion. sanoi ennen sen tekemistä: "mietin koko iltaruuan ajan miten voisin opettaa sen". hän oli keksinyt neljä keinoa. ajateltu juuri S:lle. 1. yritä oikein kovasti 2. kuuntele 3. älä istu J:n vieressä musiikkitunnilla 4. älä varasta lumipalloja. D:"kun S katsoo tätä koko päivän se jää hänen aivoihin ikuisesti".

D had made a special program for S. before making it he said: "i will think about how to teach it the whole time during the dinner". he had figured out four ways. 1. try your hardest 2. listen 3. don't sit near J during the music class 4. don't steal snow balls. D: "if S looks at this the whole day it will go to his brain forever".
