treffit -- a date

tänään minulla ja S:lla oli kahdenkeskinen päivä. teimme retken harakkaan (saari uunisaaren vieressä). huomenna vietän vastaavaa päivää D:n kanssa.

today S and i spent a day together. we made a trip to harakka (an island near uunisaari). tomorrow i will spend a day with D.

söimme välipalan tämän harakan luontotalon edessä. nappasimme evääksi karjalanpiirakat tehtaankadun siwasta. kysyin S:lta "mitä muuta haluat?" hän osoitti pillikaakaota. "oletko varma että tykkäät kaakaosta?" (tiedän että ei tykkää). vieressä oli mehuja, mutta hän nappasi käteensä pillimaidon. kysyin "haluatko muuta välipalaksi?" "haluaisin omenan, kokonaisen omenan, siinä saa olla kuoretkin". voi mikä kullanmuru! vielä niin pienet toiveet.

we had a snack in the front of this nature house. we grabbed some karelian pies (rice pies) from siwa (a corner shop). i asked from S what else he would like to have. he pointed out the chocolate milk. "are you sure you like it?" (i knew he doesn't). there were some juices but he chose the milk. i asked, "do you want something else for the snack time?" "i would like to have an apple, a whole apple, i can eat the skin too." oh what a darling! still so small wishes.

S: "pitää pysyä kivien sisällä". luontopolut oli merkattu kivin ja maalatuin valkoisin kolmioin. S johdatti meitä paikasta toiseen.

S: "you need to stay between the rocks". the nature pathway was marked with the rocks and some white painted triangles. S led us from one place to another.

luonto oli ihan mieletön.

the nature was amazing.

käväisimme myös taiteilijoiden talossa. muutama tuttu nimi löytyi. saarella oli meneillään myös jotain leiri tms. toimintaa.

we also visited the artist's house. couple of names i know. there were some camps or activities going on on the island.

mua huvitti tämä kasvi. saarta mainostetaan monimuotoisena ja herkkänä saaristoluontona. kaikki oli niin pientä, kaunista ja herkkää, kunnes tämä ilmaantui eteemme. paksu, iso, kummallinen pötkylä.

this plant made me smile. the island is known for it's many types of plants, insects and birds and as a part of a sensitive archipelago scenery. everything was so small, beautiful and fragile until this appeared. a thick, big, weird stick.

olipa kaunis livenä tämä neitoperhonen. en vaan oikein ehtinyt mukaan.

the peacock butterfly was beautiful. i just wasn't fast enough to catch a photograph.

kotiin mukaan löytyi lokin sulka ja viinipullon korkki. S sai maksaa laivamatkan itse. olin laittanut pikku kukkaroon kolikoita. tästä suuntasimme cafe ursulaan, mistä kävelimme (välillä istuimme ja täytimme lasten ristikoita) rantaa pitkin kauppahalliin, sen viereiselle jätskikiskalle ja kauppatorille. ostimme 4-viljan leivän ja pensasmustikoita. ihana poika, liian harvoin olemme kahden. muistan omasta lapsuudestani parhaiten sen kun sai jakamattoman huomion kalaretkellä tai muualla. haluan samaa omille lapsilleni.

S found a feather and a wine cork to take home. he was able to pay the ferry trip by himself. i have put some coins to a small purse. from here we headed to cafe ursula (sea view) from where we walked (and sat and did some childrens' crossword puzzles) by the coast to the old market hall, to an ice-cream kiosk and kauppatori (an outdoor market). we bought some bread and blueberries. what a lovely boy, too rarely were only two of us together. i remember from my childhood the best when i got some unshared attention on a fishing trip or somewhere else. i want to give the same to my children.
