oli ihanaa -- it was lovely

meidan kalifornian lomamatka lahenee loppuaan. olipa meilla ihana matka! tassa viela muutamia otoksia matkamme varrelta. our holiday in california is coming to its end. we've had such a lovely trip. here are couple of pictures from our journey.

mieheni on joka aamu lahtenyt lenkille. olen niin ylpea hanesta! kuva hanen retkiltaan. my husband has gone for walks every morning. i'm so proud of him! this picture is from his wanderings.

grand central market. paiva aunt S:n ja uncle R:n seurassa L.A.:n keskustassa. he asuvat nykyaan siella hienossa vanhassa rakennuksessa. grand central market. a day with aunt S and uncle R in downtown L.A. they now live there in a fancy old building.

tassa me ollaan menossa siella keskustassa union stationilla. myos hieno vanha rakennus. so here we are in the union station. also a cool old building.

sitten rantaelamaa huntington beachilla grandpan ja grandman kanssa. kuivanneesta merikasvista tekemani koru. then some beach life at huntington beach with grandma and grandpa. a neckless made out of dry seaweed :).

lasten luontoaarteita kavelyretkelta pihan lahelta. ruusuntuoksu oli kerrassaan huumaava. childrens' nature treasures from a walk near the house. the rose smell was wonderful.
long beachin merimaailmassa uncle A:n, aunt K:n ja heidan pikku E:n kanssa. at the long beach aquarium with uncle A, aunt K and their little E.
ja kavelylla siellapain. and walking around there.
kuule humina naissa palmuissa. aah. hear the wind blowing in these palm trees. aah.

veljekset veljen luona. talla matkalla tajusin, etta mina ja aunt K olemme naineet veljekset :). missa ovatkaan olleet ne kuuluisat aivonystyrat. the brothers at the brother's home. during this trip i realized that aunt K and i married the brothers :). very smart of me.
joku muukin tykkaa vihreasta kuin mina. seinatkin ovat vihreat. serkku E:n leluilla leikkimista. see, somebody else likes greens too. the walls are green and quite many other things too! playing with cousin E's toys and kind of with her :)
D & S uncle A:n ja aunt K:n uima-altaalla. ollaan nautittu lammosta. D & S at uncle A's and aunt K's swimming pool. we've been enjoying the warm weather.
onnellinen cocon taluttaja. a happy coco walker.
ja naminami jaadytettya jugurttia, marjoja ja muita paallystyksia valinnan mukaan. and some frozen yogurt at menchie's.

elamani miehet. newport beachin temppelilla. ymparoiva puutarha oli tosi kaunis. the men of my life. at the newport beach temple. the garden around it was very beautiful.

jaadytettya banaania newport beachilla kuten mieheni aina pienena teki. frozen banana in newport beach like my husband always did when he was young.

isot aallot ovat olleet D:n ja S:n yksi matkan kohokohdista. eilen S:n kohokohta oli: "kun piirsin grandpalle ja odotin etta han tulee kotiin". big waves have been one of D's and S's highlights during the trip. yesterday S's highlight was: "when i draw for grandpa and waited for him to come home and give it to him."

pikku retkia -- little outings

vietimme puoli paivaa los angelesin lansiosassa torimaisella alueella nimelta the farmer's market. we spent half a day at a farmer's market in west L.A.

soimme siella lounaankin. tassa paistettua kalaa, salaattia ja maissileipaa. jalkkariksi taalla kasvatettuja makeita mustikoita. we had our lunch there. here's some fried fish, salad and corn bread. the dessert was some locally grown sweet blueberries.
ja nami nami luumuja. and some yummy yummy plums.
tama museo ja pihalla olevat museoalueet olivat mielenkiintoisia. pihassa on paikka, josta on loydetty ja loytyy yha mustaan oljymaiseen aineeseen aikoinaan juuttuneiden elainten luita. mm. susien paita on loytynyt sadoittain. mammutteja ym. aikoinaan elaneita myos. this museum and the museum yards were interesting. there is an area outside from which they have found and still find animal bones. ages ago they got stuck to this oily black stuff (tar). for example mammoth bones and hundreds of wolf heads has been found. 

no sitten ihan huippupaikka. tama marionettiteatteriesitys. menimme sinne grandpan ja grandman kanssa. ylitti kaikki odotuksemme. viiksekas mies oli oikein guru talla alalla. ja muutkin kylla uskomattomian hyvia liikuttamaan noita nukkeja. esityksessa oli hieno vanha aanilevymusiikki ja kaikki hahmot, elaimet, kukat ja vihannekset olivat kauniita, hyvatunnelmaisia ja hauskoja. well then our very favourite place. this marionette theatre. we went there with grandpa and grandma. it exceded our expectations. the man with the mustache was a master in his field. and all the other ones too were unbelievably good at moving the puppets. the music was nice old music from the records and all the marionettes, animals, flowers and vegetables were beautiful, funny and left a good feeling.

taman paivan huippupaikka oli tanaka farm irvinessa kalifornian orange county:ssa. maistelimme kiertoajelulla kaikenlaisia vihanneksia, hedelmia ja mansikoita. aah ja ooh. today we went to tanaka farm in irvine, orange county, CA. we got to taste all kinds of yummy vegetables, fruits and strawberries during their tour.
