nyt se alkoi -- now it has begun

sairaiden lasten kanssa on ollut aikaa ottaa esiin muutamat joulukoristeet. jokaisella koristeella on joku tarina, mistä se on peräisin ja miltä vuodelta. ihan kaikkia ei ole otettu esiin, eikä ihan kaikkia oteta tänä vuonna. en halua liikaa. muutenkin huomaan että nyt haluan kaikkein luonnollisimpia. en tykkää muovisesta ledtähtivalosarjastamme, en edes tuikkukynttilöistä. haluan vain pehmeästi palavia steariini/vahakynttilöitä :). tuoksukkaat hyasintit ja isot amarylliksen kukat olisivat kauniita. with sick children we have had time to take out some of our christmas decorations. every decoration has a story, where it's from and from which year. we haven't taken out all of them and won't this year. i don't want too much. i realized this time i want only the most natural ones. i don't like our plastic led star lights, not even the small tea candles. i want only the smoothly burning stearin/wax candles :). smell of hyacinths and big amaryllis flowers would be beautiful.
tämän valosarjan kuitenkin kelpuutin ;) pehmeää kumia ja pehmyt valo. myös tummanvihreä vanerinen joulukuusi, jossa näkyvät jouluvalosarjan kärjet (upotettuna porattuihin pikkureikiin) on mennyt läpi. naapurin muutosta saatu. ja niin, yksi toinen valo menee myös läpi: valkoinen paperinen iso tähti. sekin antaa kauniin pehmeän valon huoneeseen. these lights were ok though :). soft gum and soft light. also a dark green veneer christmas tree, in which the small light ends (in the drilled small holes) passed. given to us when our neighbor moved. and another light will pass as well: a white big paper star. it also gives beautiful soft light to the room.

sydänvalot on ripustettu puiseen vanhaan pikku kaappiin. tavallisesti kaappi on taiteilijantarvikkeille, mutta joulun alla se muuttuu jeesuksen syntymäpaikaksi (ylin hylly), joulupukin pajaksi (keskihylly) ja tonttulakki & poronsarvivarastoksi (alin kapea hylly). ei mikään erityisnäky, mutta kovasti suosittu leikkipaikka tonttuhahmoineen ja seimiasetelmineen. the heart lights are hung on a wooden old little cupboard. normally it's for arts and crafts equipment, but before christmas it turns into the birth place of jesus (the highest shelf), santa's gift workshop (the middle shelf) and the storage of elf hats and reindeer horns. not a very special view but a very popular playing area with its elf and nativity scene characters.
