leirillä -- in a camp

olin kolme päivää nuorten naisten (12-18 v.) leirillä espoossa luukinjärven rannalla. fyysisesti päivät olivat vaativat. helle, pitkät toimeliaat päivät ja myöhäinen unille meno teki sen, mutta silti tuntui kuin olisin ollut taivaassa. upeita aikuisia, upeita nuoria. opin niin paljon siellä. oli mahtava seurata tyttöjen keskinäisen ystävyyden syvenemistä ja hengellistä kasvua. tärkeä tärkeä leiri.

i was at the young women's (12 to 18 years old) camp in espoo by the lake called luukinjärvi. the days were physically demanding: the hot weather, long active days and late nights, but still it felt like i was in heaven. wonderful adults and wonderful teenagers. i learnt so much there. it was great to follow the friendships that were deepened between the girls and to see and hear about their spiritual development. an important important camp.

teimme päivävaelluksen, josta tämä lakkakuva (voi, tarkennus ei onnistunut) ja tämä alempi kuva. matkan varrella oli erilaisia rasteja, mm. saippuan veistämistä.

we made a day hike where this cloudberry is from and the picture below. along the trip there were some activities, for example soap carving.

ja muutaman tytön saippuat. tytöt (seitsemän tytön ryhmä), joiden kanssa olin eniten, olivat nuorimpia ja ensi kertaa leirillä. avoimia ja aitoja.

and some of the soaps the girls made. the girls (a group of seven), with whom i was the most, were the youngest ones and at the camp for the first time. open and honest.

tässä on meneillään hauska viesti. me uitiin ja saunottiin joka päivä. tytöt sai myös soudella kanooteilla ja veneellä ja oppia ensiapua. eilen minäkin olin suuressa roolissa esittämässä myrkytyspotilasta. tyttöjen oli aika soveltaa opittua käytäntöön. he kiersivät ryhmissä kohteelta kohteelle ja auttoivat parhaansa mukaan. lopuksi he kirjasivat ylös mitä he tekivät ja missä järjestyksessä. sen jälkeen ensiavussa työskentelevä sairaanhoitaja kertoi, miten eri tilanteissa olisi pitänyt toimia. aikuisilla oli hauskaa maalatessamme shokkipotilaan ym naamoja.

here is going a fun activity. we swam and had sauna every day. the girls were able to do some canoe and boat rowing and learn first aid. yesterday i was one of the victims, acting out a poisoning patient. it was time for the girls to apply the learning in use. the groups went through the different patients and helped as best one can. then they wrote down what they did and in which order. after it a nurse who works in the first aid told what we should have done in these situations. the adults had fun watching the painting process of a shock patient and some wounded faces.
